On a candle or diffuser label

Whether this statement applies is decided by the classification of the finished fragrance mixture at your load, which your supplier's safety data sheet gives. The candle and home-fragrance tools take that classification and print the statement with its pictogram and signal word, in the order the label needs.

This class is one of those whose responsible substances are also named on the label, as part of the product identifier (Article 18(3)(b)). A maximum of four chemical names normally suffices.

What it asks of the packaging

Packaging of any size supplied to the general public with this classification also needs:

These are features of the container and closure, not of the label, so they belong in the packaging choice. The same rules apply in Great Britain.

When another pictogram takes its place

In Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the EU

The statement, its wording and its pictogram are the same in Great Britain, where the label is written in English, and in Northern Ireland, which follows the EU text. In the EU the label is written in the official language of each country where the product is sold (Article 17(2)).
