Beeswax INCI name
The INCI name for beeswax is Beeswax, in every product. Unlike a soaping oil, it does not take a soap salt name: the label tools list it by its own name even in cold-process soap, as it was added.
| In lotions, balms and other cosmetics | Beeswax |
|---|---|
| In cold-process soap (sodium hydroxide) | Beeswax (listed by its own name) |
| In liquid soap (potassium hydroxide) | Beeswax (listed by its own name) |
| On a US label | Beeswax |
| In Great Britain and Northern Ireland | The same names as the EU. Northern Ireland uses the EU glossary cited below; Great Britain still uses the glossary it kept from the EU, where the same names have other entry numbers. |
| Also entered as | bees wax, yellow beeswax, white beeswax, cera alba |
Glossary citation: Beeswax #3125 (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2025/1175 on EUR-Lex).
The glossary also lists Cera Alba (entry 5754), an older name for beeswax; either is a glossary name. The tools print Beeswax, the broader entry and also the US name. To print Cera Alba instead, add it to the line in the tool as inci: Cera Alba.
In the soap or skincare tool, put it on its own line with its weight, for example "beeswax, 30", and the tool prints the right name for the product type and the region you choose.
Transcribed from the EU glossary of common ingredient names (Implementing Decision (EU) 2025/1175) and checked against it; the US names are the ones FDA's substance registry (GSRS) records. A labelling reference, not safety advice.
